The #1 Z16 has been featured in a number of magazine articles since it’s restoration in 1989. The best, by far, is that written by Mark Meekins. Mark published the detailed story in the October, 1989 issue of his National Chevelle Owners Association, Inc.’s Chevelle Report.

Of note is the lack of the black vinyl top on the car. Floyd Garrett, who owned the car at the time, chose not to have it installed during the restoration. Terry Gunter, who bought the car from Floyd in 2000, had the top installed as it was originally equipped.

A debt of gratitude is owed Mark Meekins for thoroughly documenting the #1 Z16 and publishing this story. As noted elsewhere on this web site, Mark wrote a number of detailed articles on the Z16 in his Chevelle Report over a span of nearly 20 years. It is much appreciated by many.
